Rising Damp Treatment
True rising damp draws ground moisture, and the salts that come with it, up through walls, staining plaster and rotting skirtings. We are specialists in diagnosing and treating it, using proven chemical damp-proof course systems.
Real Trident jobOur founder Joe is PCA trained and keeps the whole team up to date with new products and methods. For most rising damp problems we use a professional damp-proofing cream system, injected into the mortar course to form a new chemical damp-proof course.
Rising damp brings salt with it to the surface of walls and renders, and treating it means using the right salt-resistant materials, not painting over the problem. We remove skirting boards so we can inject behind them, protecting the timbers from further damage and stopping the rising damp at its source.
Generally we hack off contaminated plaster up to 1.2 metres on affected areas, higher where the damp is severe. Our surveyor determines exactly what is needed on site, and our written report and specification shows you precisely what we found and why.
Important honesty note: much of what gets called "rising damp" is actually condensation or penetrating damp. We diagnose first, and if you do not need a chemical damp-proof course, we will tell you.
