Services

Seven services, each one diagnosed first.

From pre-purchase surveys to basement tanking. Every job starts with a survey and a written specification, and completed work carries a 10–20 year guarantee.

01

Pre-Purchase Damp & Timber Surveys

Buying a property? Know exactly what you are taking on before you commit. We inspect the property for damp and timber problems and give you a clear written report with the facts and the costs, and nothing invented.

Full details on Pre-Purchase Surveys
When buyers call us
  • Your mortgage valuation or homebuyer report flagged "damp" or "timber defects"
  • You can see staining, tide marks or mould on a viewing
  • The property is older, has been empty, or smells musty
  • You want repair costs in writing before negotiating the price
02

Rising Damp Treatment

True rising damp draws ground moisture, and the salts that come with it, up through walls, staining plaster and rotting skirtings. We are specialists in diagnosing and treating it, using proven chemical damp-proof course systems.

Full details on Rising Damp
Signs to look for
  • Tide marks, salts or bubbling plaster on ground-floor walls
  • Damp, dark patches that never fully dry out
  • Rotting or lifting skirting boards
  • Musty smell at low level
03

Penetrating Damp

Water forcing its way in from outside (through defective pointing, gutters, roof junctions or bridged cavities) shows as damp patches that grow when it rains. We trace the route in, fix the defect and make good the damage.

Full details on Penetrating Damp
Signs to look for
  • Damp patches that darken or spread during wet weather
  • Staining below windows, chimney breasts or gutter lines
  • Blown or hollow external render and failed pointing
  • Isolated patches at any height, not just ground level
04

Condensation & Black Mould

The most common form of dampness in any home, whatever its age. Black mould on walls and ceilings, a musty smell and streaming windows are caused by everyday moisture meeting cold surfaces, and they are fixable with the right ventilation strategy.

Full details on Condensation & Mould
Signs to look for
  • Black mould spots on walls, ceilings or around windows
  • A musty odour in affected rooms
  • Streaming windows on cold mornings
  • Mould in rooms away from the moisture source (kitchens, bathrooms)
05

Wet & Dry Rot Treatment

Wet rot is a localised decay that needs constant moisture; dry rot travels through brick, mortar and timber and is far more destructive. Getting the identification right early matters most. Our surveyor determines the type and specifies the cure.

Full details on Wet & Dry Rot
Signs to look for
  • Soft, spongy or crumbling timber
  • Fruiting bodies or fungal growth on wood or masonry
  • A damp, mushroomy smell under floors
  • Cuboidal cracking in dried-out timber (dry rot)
06

Woodworm Treatment

Wood-boring beetles can quietly destroy structural timber over a life cycle of up to five years. One exit hole on the surface can hide extensive damage inside. Correct identification of the beetle is essential to choosing the effective treatment.

Full details on Woodworm
Signs to look for
  • Fresh, clean-edged exit holes in timber
  • Fine wood dust (frass) below joists or furniture
  • Weakened, crumbling floorboards or joists
  • Adult beetles emerging in spring and summer
07

Basement Tanking & Waterproofing

Turn a damp cellar into dry, usable living space. We design and install modern cavity drain membrane systems, which manage water rather than fight it, backed by GPI insurance-backed guarantees.

Full details on Basement Tanking
When to talk to us
  • Damp, musty or unusable basement and cellar space
  • Water staining or standing water after heavy rain
  • Planning a basement conversion or extra living space
  • Old tanking that has failed under pressure
