What actually happens during a damp survey (and what you get at the end)

No mystery, no sales pitch. Here is exactly what a Trident survey involves, who turns up, and what the written specification you receive covers.

People sometimes put off booking a damp survey because they expect a salesman with a clipboard and a frightening quote. That is exactly the model we built Trident to avoid. The person who surveys your property is a qualified surveyor who is also one of the operatives, the same person who would do the work, not a commission salesman. The company is led by Joe, who is PCA trained.

On the day

The surveyor inspects the affected areas and the building around them: moisture readings, the state of plaster and timbers, ventilation, external defects like gutters and pointing that are often the true cause. Because they fix these problems for a living, they know the difference between what looks alarming and what actually matters.

The written specification

You receive a written report and specification sheet: what was found, what caused it, what needs doing, and what it costs. If something does not need remedial work, the report says so. We do not find problems that do not exist.

If you go ahead, the work is carried out by the same tight team and backed by GPI insurance-backed guarantees of 10 to 20 years depending on the service, accepted by lenders across the UK.
