Tanking Basements

Space is becoming a major premium these days with lofts being utilised more and more which we see every day with a large amount of scaffolding you see these days with loft company signs, but also another area expanding the use of your home is your basement, the area of expertise needed.

Has changed with new innovations (the old way) tanking walls which stops the water from penetrating the living space but still lets the water build up pressure on the brickwork, the newer more manageable way of dealing with this problem is using cavity drain membranes this allows us to take control of the water and divert it to a drainage system which is then pumped or diverted from the living space this takes away pressure from the structure as well as letting the brickwork dry this method is formed both on the wall and floor, these areas can be then dry lined or plastered directly and the floors screeded or a floating dry floor system laid.
